Gopalpur,(YNS):A two-day Amrit Kaal Cultural Festival has been inaugurated at the Gopalpur Sea Beach under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and organized by the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Kolkata.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Kirti Vasan V., IAS, District Collector, Ganjam, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Dr. Shravana Vivek M., IPS, Superintendent of Police, Berhampur; Shri Prathamesh Arvind Rajshikare, IAS, Commissioner, Berhampur Municipal Corporation; and Shri Avinash Kumar, IAS, Sub-Collector, Berhampur.
The Amrit Kaal Cultural Festival, initiated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister through the Ministry of Culture and EZCC, aims to promote the vision of a developed India by celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the country. Through this platform, the diverse traditions of Indian—and particularly Odishan—dance and music are being showcased with dignity, while providing an opportunity for local cultural groups from Odisha and Ganjam district to present their artistic excellence.
With the support of the Ganjam District Administration, the inaugural evening featured a vibrant array of traditional performances, including:
Ghanta Mridanga and Pashu Dance by Shri Shri Chaitanya Nityananda Ghanta Mridanga Sangha, Ganjam
Jodi Shankha by Narendrapur Folk Dance Group, Ganjam
Danda Nacha by Sadhugosain Natya Parishad, Ganjam
Odissi Dance by Sadhana Art & Culture, Bhubaneswar
Radha Prem Leela by Jai Maa Santoshi Folk Dance Group, Ganjam
Odissi Dance by Jagruti Nrutya Kala Mandir, Cuttack
Prahlad Nataka by Nrusinghanath Natya Kala Sangha, Ganjam
The participating artist groups are also being provided financial assistance by the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre. The initiative of EZCC, Kolkata, to encourage and support artists from Ganjam district has been strongly complemented by the district administration.
On this occasion, gurus and senior artists were felicitated in recognition of their contributions. The guests highly appreciated the efforts of the artists, the Ganjam district administration, and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre.
The event was coordinated by Shri Jayadeep Bose and Shri Krishna Saroj from EZCC. Ms. Sindhu Brown anchored the programme, while Shri Bibhu Prasad Mishra managed the overall event operations.
